Africa XP goes live with coralPlay

Leeds, UK, 1st April, 2019 – Cloud playout and workflow specialist coralbay.tv Ltd has announced that Africa XP has gone live with coralPlay.

Africa XP chooses coralPlay

Africa XP needed a reliable multi-channel playout system that was able to play their 14 channels from the cloud or on premises. coralPlay automatically collects content from media storage locations, which can be in the cloud or on a NAS, according to the needs of the playlists and saves it to the local host. It also provides secondary functions, such as graphics, DVEs, now/next/later as well as playing the primary media. The system outputs an MPEG-2 transport stream and is distributed via Zixi. It is operated entirely via a web browser.

Flexibility was key to the decision as Craig Kelly, CEO, comments “coralPlay can be hosted anywhere – either in the cloud, on-premises or a blend of both. We needed this flexibility so that we can run channels wherever they need to be for operational efficiencies and cost savings. coralPlay is full of features and is very easy to integrate and operate. The company is also extremely easy to work with, which is critical in the age of poor email and ticket based support”.

Commenting on the project, Peter Hajittofi, says, “We are delighted to have been awarded this project and for Africa XP to have taken the system to air. This puts coralbay.tv firmly on the map and confirms that there is an appetite for re-architected next generation playout.”
