coralbay.tv releases UHD Playout with New High-Density HDR Pipeline and GPU Acceleration

The latest release introduces comprehensive support for Ultra High Definition (UHD) and High Dynamic Range (HDR) workflows, delivering a leap in channel density and agility for broadcasters.

 

As the industry transitions to higher resolutions and more vibrant color spaces, coralPlay now provides full support for UHD 4K 2160p (BT.2100), including HLG at p50 and p59.94. To ensure seamless integration into existing hybrid environments, the update includes built-in HDR-to-SDR conversion (and vice-versa). This utilizes a mathematically precise, deterministic conversion process to maintain the absolute integrity of the original source, avoiding the unpredictability of AI-based scaling.

 

Technical excellence remains at the core of the coralPlay architecture. This update introduces full support for 10 and 12-bit color depths. To handle the massive throughput required for real-time UHD we have implemented an optimized compositor utilizing AVX2 and AVX512 instruction sets.
