Leeds, UK, 11th September, 2019 – Cloud playout and workflow specialist coralbay.tv Ltd announced today that it has released support for the Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) open-source protocol for global distribution of transport streams. In addition, coralbay.tv is now a member of the SRT Alliance.

SRT Logocoralbay.tv’s flagship coralPlay product is next-generation playout software that can output a variety of different formats including SMPTE 2110 and DVB transport streams. It can be hosted in any public cloud, virtual environment or on bare metal. It has been designed using microservices and is deployed using docker containers and Kubernetes.

“The addition of SRT provides our customers with a cost-effective, secure and reliable way to distribute their transport streams” says Gavin Smith, Director of Video Technology at coralbay.tv . “That means that content, playout and accompanying services can be located wherever an organisation requires them. We have already observed considerable success sending encoded streams from the UK to Germany without any problems. The beauty of this protocol is its simplicity; it is easy to deploy and configure, saving considerable time.”
