coralbay.tv announces SMPTE ST 2110 integration with AJA KONA IP25
AMSTERDAM, September 2026 — coralbay.tv is pleased to announce the full integration of the AJA KONA IP25 SMPTE ST 2110 uncompressed I/O card into its next-generation playout product – coralPlay. Debuting at IBC 2026, the combined technologies deliver a highly robust, broadcast-grade SMPTE ST 2110 solution offering uncompressed video up to 4K, ST 2110-30 for Audio, and ST 2110-40 for ancillary data.
Building on a successful history of supporting the AJA Corvid line of SDI cards, coralbay.tv has expanded its architecture to natively support the KONA IP25. The solution is fully compliant with AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 for seamless network discovery and connection management and utilizes PTP (Precision Time Protocol) for frame-accurate facility synchronization. In addition, the integration natively handles SMPTE ST 2022-7 dual-path network redundancy.
A defining advantage of this new integration is its reliance on pure hardware-based packet pacing. Unlike software-driven network interfaces that offload packet pacing to the host system—leaving streams vulnerable to OS kernel delays or thread scheduling jitter—the KONA IP25 manages all packet shaping directly on the card’s silicon. For broadcasters, this guarantees a significantly more stable and predictable transmission pipeline that remains immune to host CPU load.
Furthermore, by sharing a unified AJA SDK architecture with the SDI-based Corvid line, coralbay.tv’s IP implementation inherits years of hardened, battle-tested software logic. Customers transitioning from SDI to IP benefit immediately from this architectural maturity, enjoying the same rock-solid reliability and rapid feature deployment they have come to expect from traditional baseband systems.
